Presenting a Successful Open House by Dawn Frank Regional Vice President
1. Open your house “pre-season” to introduce new holiday line and encourage booking presentations so hosts can earn 80% off their orders. Have one “last minute” for sales. Promote all as true social events; a chance for your professional clients to network, exchange business cards, meet others. 2. Invite entire client list, wholesale buyers, business partners. Consider doing a joint Open House with members of your team. Ask for RSVP. Give at least 2 weeks lead-time. Know that there are no guarantees for turnout. You may want to make a reminder call to important clients if they do not RSVP. Even if no one can attend, you should follow up by phone afterwards to schedule and/or take orders.
3. Pick two nights: back-to-back, preferably during the week.
4. Possible themes: Holiday Brunch, Fireside Cheer, Holiday Gift Boutique, Arbonne Gifts of Luxury, Champagne Brunch, Mens Night, Ladies Night, “Holidays & Hormones” or “Hormones & Hanukkah” -- create a fun atmosphere!
5. Offer specials but DO NOT DISCOUNT ALL THE PRODUCTS!!! Offer % off gift sets (3, 4 or 5 pdct. sets) or a particular category (i.e., skin care, glamour pdcts, aromatherapy). Offer 2 for 1 on special sets. Include a copy of a $5 bill in your invitation – your gift to them. Make a flyer explaining special offers.
6. Create a festive atmosphere upon arrival. Holiday music, decorations, lights, scents, food, drinks, etc. Network. Introduce guests to each other.
7. Offer free gifts for bringing a guest. NOT PRODUCTS!!! Small logo items or samples (hand cream, foot cream, etc.). Everyone gets a catalog 7 a pen. Offer a Holiday Shopping Gift List.
8. Set up products in “stations” around the house. Skin care, body care, aromatherapy, mens, baby, make-up, Bio-Nutria, etc. Pre-wrap gift items for display. Use Arbonne vinyl bags, baskets, boxes, etc. Don’t reinvent the wheel – keep Arbonne gift sets together!! Use 3x5 cards to show special prices. Embellish with flower picks, chocolates, tea towels, ornaments, candy canes, beautiful ribbons & bows, etc.
9. Add “tester” label on all display products – encourage guests to feel, smell and try. Have catalog open to appropriate page at each station.
10. Use holiday table cloth or glitzy material over shoe boxes or tupperware to create height on tables. Incorporate acrylic risers, mirrored trays, holiday ornaments, garland, place settings, napkins, wrapping papers.
11. Be sure name stickers are on all products – include business card in every package.
12. Offer gift certificates for future service (personal profile, makeover, etc.) or product purchases (pre-paid $$$ value). Include a generic gift certificate in all gift paks (for free catalog). Be sure to set expiration date – usually 60 days.
13. Have opportunity packets and/or Discover Arbonne audiotapes ready to go. Be sure to mention the Arbonne Opportunity as an excellent source of extra income. Explain your services: gift baskets, corporate gifts, etc.
14. Set up “order taking” station: Profile Sheets, Retail Price Sheets, calculator, Hostess pkts., calendar for bookings, etc. Be sure all brochures are stamped with your name and are handy. Have sample packs ready to go, but not visible unless you are selling them as travel packs (srp $3.00).
15. Have fun! Opening your house is a wonderful way to say “Thank You” and show your appreciation to get clients. Happy Arbonne Holidays!!!
