Being A Business Builder
by Phoebe James, Executive National Vice-President

SPONSORING:

o   The key to sponsoring is to listen to the needs of the people that are talking to you. What is missing. Build rapport. You have to learn to listen to what is missing and then show how Arbonne can solve those problems and meet those needs.

o   Taxi Driver Story: First the taxi driver has to find you, then he has to find out where you want to go, then his vehicle will take you there. (Be the taxi driver.)

o   Circle of Influence: Surround yourself with successful people. Your income = the income of the top10 people in your life. Deserve to be surrounded by successful people who have money.

o   Richard Brooke, President of Oxyfresh: Started as a 2, sponsored a 9, became a 12. Sponsor up! (Doll example)

o   Mark Yarnell: Makes $300,000 a month. He had a business reception to which he invited 200 people. 140 said yes, they would come. 70 people actually showed up. Of those, he sponsored 12 or 13. Only 1 stuck with the organization and is still doing the business. (Quote: "Sir, this is going to sound ridiculous and you don't have to answer, but if you could give me an honest answer and you were convinced it was possible to make $30,000 to $50,000 a month - is that an entrepreneurial idea you'd like to know about?)

o   Sponsoring is a numbers game.

o   Courage is heart. Benefit others.

o   Bucket story: If there were 100 buckets turned upside down and you knew that there was $10,000 under one of those buckets, how long would it take you to turn the buckets over to find it? Would you stop and talk to each bucket longer than to find out if the $ was there? Or would you move swiftly from bucket to bucket, turning them over until you found the $.

o   PEARLS:

        P   ositive
        E   nthusiastic & Entrepreneurial
        A   chievers/Attitude
        R   ecognition
        L   eaders
        S   uccessful/not satisfied

o   Parable: Sower & Reaper of Seeds - There was a wise, good man who was seeking success. He had good stewardship and went to work as a laborer, became active. He first found excellent seed/product, then planted and nurtured the seed. By law of averages, it grew. A flock of birds wanted to pull up the seed. The wise man had to decide whether to run and chase the birds away or stay in the field and nurture the seed. In other words, do you chase the birds that want to pull up the seed then fly away to another field, or do you want to let those birds go and stay in the field and nurture your seeds to growth. So, discipline your disappointments, don't major in minor things.

o   If you rest too long the weeds will take over the garden. What you do today plants the seeds for what happens in your business three months down the line. It's about planting seeds and if you slow down the momentum, stop for a couple of months, then the weeds will take over and it will show down the road.

o   Prado Principle - 80/20 rule:

20% of the people will be responsible for 80% of the production

o   Action Supersedes Everything/Revenue Producing Activities:

        1.  Contacting & Inviting
        2.  Follow-Up - better not to do it then to do it and not follow up
        3.  Closure - ask for order
        4.  Master Getting Started - always start over
        5.  MCA = all out, MASSIVE CORRECT ACTION = Massive Results

o   Non-Reproducing Activities:

        Organizing files and desks
        Dragging people along
        Forming Committees
        Preparing to prepare
        Terrorist activities, gossiping
        Spending time researching other deals

o   Question - would you talk to 2 people every day for 4 years if I told you I would give you $100,000 a year to do it? Just to make new friends? This business is about talking to 2 new people every day for 4 years to make $100,000.

o   The Dream Expands As You Achieve It!
